Sexuality
Sexuality is a domain in which autosuggestion is the beginning and the
end. One cannot become sexually aroused on command. In order to become
sexually aroused, one has to perform a kind of autosuggestive session.
Visualization is one powerful kind of autosuggestion. In the domain of
sexuality, it is used in many forms: private imagination, advertising,
and pornography.
Thousands of aphrodisiacs are used to jump-start sex drive. When scientifically
investigated, they all appear to be placebos. No wonder, while it is the
nec plus ultra of (auto)suggestive domain. Conclusion: the best aphrodisiac
is in the mind and can be activated through autosuggestion.
There is no agreement about the number of cases of psychosomatic cause
for impotence. In fact, any case is psychosomatic to some extent. Any
individual with impotence can gain an advantage in taking this into account.
Impotence gets worse through the expectation of it. This expectation /
belief is a negative kind of autosuggestion. The aim is to replace this
negative autosuggestion with a positive belief. An example: deeply living
through, a number of times, a visualization of a ‘future me’
that has no problem with impotence.
Impotence and vaginism are both conditions that frequently result from
anhedonia or lack of sexual interest. With the recent exception of Viagra,
there exists no medication, and probably never will, that can cure this,
except in rare cases such as total lack of testosterone. Apart from these
cases, treating anhedonia is a matter of subconscious motivation, like
autosuggestion.
